About This Program
Thank you for your interest in helping connect Linn County! We invite volunteers to contribute events to the Linn County Life community calendar. To ensure the integrity and family-friendly nature of our website, all event contributors must meet certain guidelines and agree to the following terms.
1. Eligibility

You must be directly affiliated with a recognized Linn County community group, non-profit, or public entity (e.g., church, school, library, civic club, health organization, government, etc.).

If you are not directly affiliated, you must obtain written authorization from an official representative of the entity for which you wish to submit events, and provide their contact information below.
2. Volunteer Agreement & Terms

Volunteers serve at the discretion of Linn County Life and may have their privileges removed at any time for violation of posting guidelines or community standards.

There is no set term for participation. Volunteers may step down or be removed at any time.

Volunteers may only submit events for their own organization or for organizations from which they have received explicit permission.

All information posted must be accurate and current. Misrepresentation may result in removal from the program.
3. Event Posting Guidelines
For the safety and enjoyment of all, please follow these posting rules:
Permitted Events:

Community gatherings, meetings, and public forums
-
Non-profit fundraisers (e.g., bake sales, benefit dinners)

Family-friendly festivals, parades, and fairs
-
Church, school, and youth organization activities
-
Library, health, educational, or cultural events
-
Free or low-cost classes, workshops, or seminars
-
Government and civic events open to the public
Not Permitted:

Events primarily commercial or for-profit in nature (e.g., store sales, business promotions, paid ticketed entertainment, or vendor events)
Note: A separate policy and pricing structure is in development for for-profit/commercial event submissions. -
Events that promote or condone illegal activity, discrimination, hate speech, or unsafe behavior

Political rallies, campaign events, or partisan advocacy

Adult-oriented, offensive, or non-family-friendly content

Personal garage sales, lost & found, or classified ads
General Posting Standards:

Keep descriptions factual, clear, and concise
-
Use respectful language—no profanity or inflammatory comments

Include accurate event details (time, date, location, sponsoring group)

No copyright-infringing images or material
-
Only post on behalf of your affiliated group or with explicit permission (see below)
4. Certification & Permission
If you are NOT an official representative of the organization, you must provide the following:

Name of authorizing entity member

Title/role within the organization
-
Email and phone number
-
A statement certifying you have been authorized to submit events on their behalf
The authorizing individual will be contacted to confirm your permission and will be considered responsible for the information submitted.
